The little church on the corner - Our History

Established in 1967, Holy Spirit Missionary Baptist Church has been a cornerstone of the Denver community for over 56 years. We have a rich history of serving others and sharing the message of Christ with all who seek to know him.

Pastor Dudley works a full-time position but can be contacted at Pastor.Dudley@holyspiritmbc.org. He can contact you about your need and make arrangements to talk with or meet you.

Holy Spirit sings hymnal songs accompanied by piano and percussion. We read and preach from the King James Bible. The service starts with a devotion, call to worship, announcements, offering, altar prayer and the message. The morning service is around an hour and a half. You will get a handshake or hug because we are happy to see visitors and the saints again in the Lord's house. 

The dress code is modesty. Come as you are, but we ask that you dress modest, without any vulgar or lewd words, pictures or symbols as you are entering the Lord's house.

We have bibles in the pews for visitors to read and follow along.

No. We take an offering at the end of Sunday School and during the morning service, but you give as the Lord leads you. We pass an offering plate and do not have people stand and walk to the front to give offerings.

Yes. Holy Spirit practices the commandment of the Lord's Supper on the 1st Sunday of each month. You do not have to be a member of Holy Spirit to participate with us. You must only be saved and examine yourself.

KJV 1 Cor 11:23-29  

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
